J.Crew Gingham Tiered Dress For Spring/Summer

If there’s one print I cannot stay away from in the spring and summer, it’s gingham! When J.Crew released their new Spring arrivals, I was drooling over the new gingham tiered dress with ruffle sleeves! Gingham is a mix of preppy, coastal and spring picnic style all in one.

I asked on Instagram how you felt about the new “no-waist” and babydoll dress trend emerging. It was a huge tie between love and dislike. This trend totally started because more days were being spent working from home and if your like me, you gained a few extra pounds and wanted to get dressed for comfort only. Which is why I imagine this style dress has become hugely popular. At first, I was on the fence. I love a pretty empire waist and seeing a defined waist with either ruching, a tie or a fitted style on a dress.

There are some styles I have tried on that I do not love because it billows out and is way to short on my 5’8 frame. I felt somewhere between a 5 year old and a baby doll in doll clothes. Luckily, J.Crew has the best fitted version of the babydoll/”no waist” style dress that I have found flattering and gives more of a shape without feeling like a big tent.

Let me tell you, this dress is your dream summer dress. First the ruffled detail is just adorable! It adds such a girly and feminine vibe to the dress! Second, I love the tiered look and even though there is no true *waist* it still gives me a shape and I feel cute in it! J.Crew runs large in my opinion and I am wearing my usual dress size which is XS. Also comes in white, hot pink and black!

Totally plan on wearing this dress on hot summer days and it would make the perfect vacation dress or backyard staycation dress! Try styling it with white sneakers and a baseball cap for a casual outfit or espadrilles and statement earrings for a dressy look!

How fun is this tropical blue Key West style backdrop?! It’s so *on brand* haha. I was dog sitting for 3 dogs and 2 cats and used the side of their house for a few blog outfit photos! It was truly a dream house to dog sit at and felt like a short staycation. The dogs truly loved people and would not leave my side! The only reason I have these photos without them in here is because I had to leave them inside to get these photos without interruptions!
